Wednesday, September 01, 2010
For the better part of a year, Andrew McCutchen has been the Pirates' best performer, so it was outright jarring to see him have any kind of slump, much less one as extended as the 3-for-28 string he took into Tuesday game's at Chicago. That was no longer a problem after the Pirates' 14-7 rout of the Cubs.McCutchen went 3-for-5 with a double, walk, two RBI and a steal in the win."I'm not getting the hits I want to get, as many as I was getting," McCutchen said. "Nothing you can do about that except keep going out there and playing hard every day. Eventually, things will turn for you. I'm not pressing.
